Forming Containers
Monday Evenings – 6PM - 9PM

In this fun and challenging 6-week class, you will learn to cut, file, shape, solder and form your very own metal container from copper, brass or bronze sheet. You can make it short and stout, tall and slender, or oval if you’re up for the task. Explore processes such as metal etching, stamping, piercing, rolling mill and other surface textures, which can be used to decorate your container. With a variety of uses and the ability to make it completely unique, leave class with a cool fitted lid container, plus the skills to take on most other metalsmithing projects. For beginning as well as advanced students.
Beginning Metalsmithing 1 - 6 - 9PM
Tuesday Evenings – jul 7 - aug 11, 2026
This hands-on class covers the foundational techniques of metalsmithing. Learn to use hand tools such as a jeweler’s saw to pierce shapes from sheet metal while using these components to create jewelry or other metal art. We will thoroughly cover the use of torches and silver solder to fabricate jewelry such as rings, pendants for necklaces, and earrings. Building up your “torch confidence” by soldering metals like silver, copper, and brass will bring a new dimension to your work! Focus will also be on metal finishing techniques from filing and sanding to simple patinas and flex shaft polishing. Come away from class with beautiful, wearable jewelry, and the skills and knowledge to continue designing and making more!
YOLO Bolo Ties- 10am - 1PM
Saturday Mornings – Jul 11 - Aug 1, 2026
Round up your ideas cuz we’re making custom bolo ties! Bring your bolo dreams to life in this 4-week class with techniques like fabrication, saw-piercing, silver soldering, working wire, tool stamping, textures and more! Add a finishing patina, braided cord and pre-made tips, or make your own for a fully custom look! You’ll leave this class with at least one finished bolo tie. Sterling silver additions available for purchase during the course. Prerequisite: Beginning Metalsmithing 1 or equivalent. Studio C.
