ARTIFACT | 2019
We all have stuff. It surrounds us in every nook and cranny of our homes. The average person has over 10,000 objects in their possession. Sometimes we forget about them completely and yet, hold onto these things. Objects have no inherent value. We as humans ascribe value to them, be it monetary or sentimental. What indicates preciousness and denotes worth? Rarity? Artifact explores the objects found in my family’s storage — excavating and elevating them, creating challenges for me to understand my family and in turn, understand myself.
